Happy 3rd Berfday Sadiekins!!!

Ok, so technically Sadies birthday was on Oct. 3rd but I've been busy/lazy about updating my blog spot & OH! the updates I have to share!!!! But this is about Sadie not my awesome dates nights w/Paul, the hummingbird that flew into our condo or my adventures back to school.

So I'm a crazy dog person & I wouldn't have it any other way :)

Sadies birthday is actually the first day we brought her home & welcomed her & all the craziness (anti-social skills, pooping in the house, clawing at the bedroom door & lifting up the carpet because she wanted inside & who can forget....her chewing on my fav pair of Roxy moccasin style sandals among other shoes that I left out *breath brandy breath*) but through it all we welcomed, embraced & nurtured every part that was our Sadiekins w/open loving & very forgiving arms. She was already a year old when we first met her at the Moreno Valley Dog Shelter. She was an ugly little thing. On Pet Harbor she was listed as a long haired doxie but in person she was a rat w/a Mohawk. Then to top it off she was crazy. She was beyond paranoid & wouldn't sit in our lap for more than 2 seconds before running off in fear that we were going to touch her. So with that in mind we were getting ready to leave & I was actually the one who was hesitant. What if she didn't get along w/Oscar? What if she wasn't the "one"? What if she'd always be crazy & wouldn't let us touch her? So off we went to think it over......well almost. The employees asked us what we thought & we were honest. So they respected our decision........yeah right. Instead they told us Sadies horrible story. Sadie had been picked up by the pound TWICE before. She was picked up in the alley way & the owner picked up each time. Well this was Sadies third visit to the shelter. Her owner brought her in to be euthanized.

:( Don't cry. This story has a happy ending full of treats, doggy dates at the park, ball playing, beach trips, snuggling nights & loads of doggie kisses......
oh & a drawer full of doggy clothes ;)

Who could NOT super puffy heart love this face?!

Anywho, so the owners explained that their complex mgr found out they had her & pets were not allowed. So there they were.....dropping her off to be killed. Instead the employees at the shelter saw nothing wrong w/Lady (her previous name) so they put her up for adoption. The day after the picture was posted I logged onto Pet Harbor & searched doxies & ta da! Found soon-to-be Sadie :D In all fairness her face does resemble a doxie so I can see why they listed her as one. So we signed the papers, had her groomed (no more Mohawk or ticks/fleas) & took a trip to Petsmart. :D
Now here we are 2 years later celebrating the love, joy & craziness she's brought into our lives.

Wait a min....IIIIII don't have to wear the hat next...do I?!!!

As you can see Oscar & Sadie are best buds :D awwwwww can you feel the love?

Balls!!!!!!!!! Balls, balls, balls, balls, balls, balls, balls!!!

Mommy don't you know I'd rather PLAY w/the balls?!!!!

Was there life before the poopies? Ehh who cares ;)

That's so sad that her previous owners brought her to be put down! It must have been fate though so you would adopt her!
